La solución está basada en un sistema de Ionización Bipolar por Plasma Frío. Desarrollado por la empresa española Tayra, consiste en instalar una máquina ionizante en el sistema de ventilación, calefacción o aire acondicionado existente en una vivienda o negocio. Los iones son dispersados en esos entornos cerrados y acaban con virus y bacterias, entre ellas la del coronavirus, tal y como pudo comprobar el Ministerio de Defensa durante las pruebas realizadas durante el pasado mes de abril, coincidiendo con los momentos más duros de la pandemia.

Tras muchos meses de pandemia de covid y de controlar una primera ola durísima con medidas muy restrictivas, el coronavirus vuelve a surgir con fuerza en España. Ya hemos aprendido que la pandemia es un tsunami a cámara lenta, y nos da miedo lo que pueda pasar este otoño e invierno. Las autoridades de salud pública, como la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) y los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC) de EE.UU., nos dicen que nos mantengamos separados de uno a dos metros, que nos lavemos las manos, que desinfectemos las superficies que tocamos con frecuencia y que usemos mascarillas. Pero el cumplimiento de estas medidas es desigual, especialmente en lo que respecta a las mascarillas, y a diario escuchamos casos en los que la gente no sabe cómo se contagió. Brotes de superpropagación, donde una persona infecta a muchas otras, ocurren en bares llenos de gente y en reuniones sociales, pero no en las playas o en los parques. No es de extrañar que la gente esté confundida.
Al contrario de lo que postula la OMS, yo, al igual que muchos otros científicos, creo que una fracción sustancial del contagio de COVID-19 se produce a través de aerosoles....
El Ministerio de Defensa probó con éxito un sistema para acabar con el coronavirus en espacios cerrados. Las pruebas se realizaron durante el confinamiento decretado tras la aprobación del estado de alarma.
